Christmas Morning Confession

Merry Christmas! Hunter’s spirit, along with his bolt-cutters inspired me to do a mischievous deed early this morning. I posted the act on Huffpo… why not, especially since today is a very low internet readership day.

It’s great to be home. I’ve been in my pajamas with nothing but the animals, a couple books and lots of firewood.

Lots of love to you today.

Your friend,

Anita Thompson

London on Gonzo

It’s early morning at the Grosvenor House in London where I’ve been aggresively spoiled by the London Book Festival and optimum Releasing (The movie Gonzo was just released in London). So sweet Ralph Steadman and I did a bit on BBC yesterday morning to comment on our beloved.

I’ll be coming home soon, and will catch up asap. The semester ended beautifully the day I was catching my plane to London — the key? drop the illusion of perfection, study like mad, and turn thy papers in on time!

Will chat soon,

XXX Anita Thompson

Thank you! I’ll check in from London.

Also, let’s wish Doug Brinkley a Happy Birthday today. Happy Birthday Dougie!

Congratulations Anita!

London Book Festival Grand Prize winner! –

LONDON (December 10, 2008)  The Gonzo Way: A Celebration of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson written by his wife, Anita Thompson, is the grand prize winner of the 2008 London Book Festival.

The book, an intimate examination of the motivations and creative process of a man considered one of the great writers and journalists of the last century, reveals that the free-wheeling, drug-ingesting public caricature of Thompson hid a consuming work ethic, an insatiable quest for knowledge and, to be sure, a spiritual commitment to independent thought and action that will long endure.

The work, by Fulcrum Publishing, will be honored with Anita Thompson on December 18 in London as part of the 2008 London Book Festival awards.

Congratulations Anita!
