Hot on the heels of Anita’s booksigning tour, the Denver Press Club will be hosting a great event tomorrow August 2nd:
Gonzo Night
Anita Thompson, wife of the late Hunter S. Thompson, will be our guest on Thursday, Aug. 2, when the Colorado Society of Professional Journalists kicks off its new series of mixers at the club.
Thompson will talk about her new book, "The Gonzo Way", published by Fulcrum Press. Rocky Mountain News reporter Jeff Kass will serve as moderator. Thompson family friend Matt Moseley will serve as our guest bartender that night.
The evening will begin with a 6 p.m. reception followed by a 7 p.m. talk. This event is free, however, seating is limited and reservations are required. To RSVP, e-mail us at spjcolorado@yahoo.org.
Also that evening, the club will unveil a beautiful new autographed artists proof of one of Ralph Steadman’s iconic illustrations for Thompson’s classic book, "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas".
Steadman recently donated the print to the club as a thank you for hosting him during his recent book tour. The print will occupy a place of honor within the club.
